On November 15, 2021, Women Cross DMZ’s Christine Ahn joined Deann Borshay Liem, Mimi Han, and Ann Wright for a conversation as part of the Film for Thought series presented by the Hawai’i Council for the Humanities and the Hawai’i International Film Festival (HIFF). Moderated by Vernadette Gonzalez, Professor of American Studies at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, the panel discusses the film Crossings, which was directed by Deann Borshay Liem and premiered at HIFF, that tells the story of Women Cross DMZ’s historic crossing of thirty women peacebuilders across the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) separating North and South Korea to call for an end to the war with a peace agreement, the reunion of divided families, and women’s inclusion in the peace process.
