Kathleen Ok-soo Richards

Kathleen Ok-soo Richards is a writer, editor, and former journalist. She spent more than a decade as an editor at alt-weekly publications, including the East Bay Express in Oakland, Calif., and The Stranger in Seattle, Wash. Her writings have also appeared in the San Francisco ChronicleOakland MagazineSF WeeklyHigh Country News, and other publications. She has won awards from the Association of Alternative Newsmedia, the Society of Professional Journalists’ Northern California chapter, and the San Francisco Peninsula Press Club. She began her career as an activist in high school, working at the Women of Color Resource Center in Berkeley, Calif., and later obtained her master’s degree in journalism at UC Berkeley.
