LIFT for Peace: End the Travel Ban to North Korea
On June 23, 2021, the LIFT (Let Individuals Freely Travel) Campaign held a “End the Travel Ban to North Korea” webinar to discuss with humanitarian workers, separated family members, and others who have traveled extensively to North Korea about the harms caused by the US travel ban on North Korea and how you can support our campaign to lift the ban and allow people to travel freely.
Since 2017, US citizens have been restricted from traveling to North Korea. This ban prevents Korean Americans from visiting their family members in North Korea, hinders humanitarian organizations from delivering critical assistance, and obstructs US citizens from engaging in people-to-people exchanges and peace-building efforts. It’s yet another tragic cost of the unresolved 70-year-old Korean War.
