Wendi Deetz

Wendi is the director of HR at Huckleberry Youth Programs. Previously, she was the director of HR & IT for the Global Fund for Women, the world’s largest women’s fund.  She also served as their Operations and HR Manager, Staff Accountant and Office Manager during her ten-year tenure. Prior to working for Global Fund for Women, she worked for the National AIDS Memorial, Frameline, Alive and Kicking and the Women’s Safety Project. She has volunteered as a board and teaching collective member for several feminist, anti-violence organizations, has interned with the Institute on Aging and Queer LifeSpace, and serves as Board Treasurer for Women Cross DMZ. Wendi holds bachelors’ degrees in English & Women’s Studies and a minor in Queer Studies from UCLA and a Master’s in Social Work from Cal State University, East Bay. She is a queer femme, an amateur urban farmer, a proud auntie, and nature worshipper who can often be found with on one of the abundant hiking trails the Bay Area has to offer.  She lives in Oakland with her partner, their teenager, a dog, a cat and a fire bellied toad named Beetoaden.
