Bush made countries like Afghanistan, North Korea, Iran, and Iraq targets of his administration’s “War on Terror,” what has been the impact of US militarized policy on the people of these countries and on those living in the United States? What is the Biden administration’s policy towards these countries, and how do we move forward while centering the most vulnerable communities targeted by US foreign policies?
On September 21, join the Feminist Peace Initiative — Women Cross DMZ, MADRE, and Grassroots Global Justice Alliance — for a critical discussion, “Grassroots Feminist Visions: A Way Forward from the War on Terror.”
We’ll discuss how to create a just foreign policy that centers communities and countries most impacted by the “War on Terror,” including Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and North Korea.
I’ll share how the Korean War paved the way for the War on Terror in terms of unauthorized military action, forever military occupation, and inaugurating the military industrial complex, but also the extraordinary grassroots feminist movement that is working for Korea Peace Now!

As we approach the 20th anniversary of the US invasion of Afghanistan, the Feminist Peace Initiative has drafted an Open Letter to President Biden calling for ending US wars and militarism for a more just and secure future.
